Do come and meet renowned author Elisabeth Galvin – she will be talking about her new biography of author E. Nesbitt, author of ‘The Railway Children’ at 1pm – The Sheen Bookshop.

E.Nesbit is really Edith Nesbit, who wrote an extraordinary 98 novels, plays and poetry collections for children betwen 1885 and 1923. She is credited with being the first modern writer for children, whose work has influenced many authors such as Oscar Wilde, C.S.Lewis, Noël Coward and J.K.Rowling.

Even though it was piblished more than 100 years ago, ‘The Railway Children’ remains one of the most popular children’s books ever written and it has never been out of print.
